the brad penn 70 appears to be what the old kendall green was so i have heard

the new kendall nitro 70 is not the same as it used to be since another company bought kendall its brownish gold i have used both i perfer the green brad penn ( old kendall ) it seems to hold better oil pressure i think its the same as the old kendall and made by the same people that made it for kendall i talked to the brad penn company last year in pa. when kendall sold out to who ever they chose not to keep the nitro 70 line and started there new nitro 70 line any way thats what ive heard

just my thoughts wish there were more brad peen dealers around so it would be easier to get

Kendal oil used to be made by Kendal Tosco and was bought out by Union 76 then by Phillips and now because of mergers I believe is owned by Conoco or Sunoco.
The oil was originally Pennsylvania Crude which had a natural green color to it. Now Kendal is not Pennsylvania Crude and it supplied by numerous different subcontractors and there is little to no requirement as to what base oil is now used. When the new (not made by Brad Penn) Kendal switched from Pennsylvania Crude to other sources they added green dye to make it look the same. The problem was the green dye contaminated the oil tanks and trucks so it was reformulated and the dye dropped. Brad Penn stopped making the original oil labeled "Kendal Oil" 8 years ago and now makes there own original Nitro 70 green oil with the Pennsylvania crude base.

Thanks Mike for getting it right. Sunoco is the one who ruined the old Kendall. The Brad Penn seems to be an exact duplicate of the Kendall green and works great. We found some new stuff that's bright red and seems to work better than the Brad Penn and it's 70 weight.
