Rookie Ken Webster Looking To Stay Strong in Phoenix

Red Deer, AB- Following a great first race showing at the Winter Nationals in Pomona, NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car Rookie Ken Webster and the Synoil Racing Team are hoping for their consistency to extend into the Division 7 race in Phoenix next weekend at Firebird Raceway.

“Ryan and Walley have given me a great car so far this year”, said Webster. “I have been able to concentrate a lot more on my driving, as well as getting more seat time in the car. I am very excited to be a part of a great team with great sponsors”.

Although Webster is a rookie in the Top Alcohol ranks, he has driven several other cars including many dragsters he owns himself in Canada. “It’s been a great experience moving up to this class of racing as well as the class of people I have met at my first National Event. In my 20 years of driving my own cars I must admit it’s really exciting to be racing with the Big Guys”.

Team and Car owner Geoff Goodwin has been very pleased with the way things have come together early in the year. “Struggling all last year was a good learning curve for the entire team. We could never seem to get a break or give our drivers a solid car, it always seemed to be something”. Goodwin also adds that “we have had the opportunity to test in Phoenix already prior to Pomona and hope that will help us in an always tough Division race at Firebird”.

With Lead sponsors Synoil, K.E.W Oilfield Services, Waylon Transport, Proform, Northgate Industries, Landale Signs, and Ron Hodgsons Pontiac/Buick/GMC on board again this year, the team hopes to continue to stay competitive for the rest of the year with plans to run all Division 6 races as well.
