    K&N Teams with Dennis Taylor

Anaheim, CA – K&N Engineering, widely recognized as the world leader in performance filtration and air intake products has partnered with Dennis Taylor’s Top Alcohol Funny Car for the upcoming Northwest Tour. The initial three-race deal consists of the late June Division 6 contest at Pacific Raceways outside Seattle, the Woodburn, Oregon, Division 6 race in early July, and the NHRA Northwest Nationals in mid July at Pacific Raceways.

Taylor noted, “The timing of this partnership is very important. The business climate hasn’t been very strong lately, and to have the confidence of a powerhouse company like K&N makes our team proud. It’s no secret we’ve run a limited schedule this year, but this marketing partnership allows us to be contenders wherever we race. I’m very proud to have the opportunity to represent a company such as K&N.” Taylor’s history in the Pacific Northwest goes way back. Early in his career, he turned wrenches for Jim Green’s “Green Elephant” nitro Funny Car. And Seattle is especially important, since Dennis has won there two years in a row and also recorded his first 5.5-second run there.

Crew chief, Terry Morrow added, “Our 2009 race schedule has given us additional time to study this new combination from Alan Johnson Performance Engines, and with the favorable data from last year, we’re ready to unleash the power.” The only variables Morrow and Taylor can’t control are weather and track conditions, but their combined experience should prove beneficial. Dennis has always enjoyed racing in NHRA’s Northwest Division 6 and this year brings added incentive with the colorful K&N signage onboard. Taylor closed saying, “We’ll roll out the red carpet for K&N’s Northwestern distributors and show them how close the competition is in the Top Alcohol Funny Car ranks.”
