Since he just had his birthday we figured it would be OK to post a picture of John Shoemaker's new American Eagle.

    SWEET!

I sat in one of those just once with the engine running---------never again. I've been upside down in the sand; I've slid backwards through the lights at 100+, but to drive one of those scares the lttle bejesus out of me. John Shoemaker-- long life and large kahunnas to you!

Beautiful car, reminds me of the Keeling & Clayton cars, and, belated birthday wishes to John.

    Front Motor Dragsters

    Hi, Bob,
The first time I went down the 1320 was in one of these, just throw your legs over the rear end housing, put your but in the seat and they are very comfortable, kina like sitting in a lounge chair with your feet up, and it's fun to watch how fast the tires spin and how much they grow.
    Check your PM:cool:

My dad drove a front engine top fuel car back in the 60's so I spent a lot of time out there with him growing up. Still think they are some of the coolest cars around and John's is a nice one.

    back in tha day

in a bench racing session with frank hawley and denny savage they were exchanging slingshot war stories....frank told us how drivers used to duct tape rags on the backs of their wrist to wipe the oil off their goggles going down track:eek::eek: sounds fun....

i still want to drive one of those things...:D

    John,
    That's a great paint scheme.
