JOHNNY AHTEN TO APPEAR ON SPEED SCENE LIVE

Los Angeles, Calif. – NHRA A/Fuel and IHRA Pro Fuel Dragster driver Johnny Ahten will appear as the in-studio co-host of Speed Scene Live, a Southern California internet-based TV and Radio motorsports show, along with host Scott “Lucky” Hudson, Tuesday night September 21st at 9pm EST / 6pm PST at http://www.speedsceneracing.com.

Ahten attended Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School in 1998, and for the Santa Clarita, Calif. based racer, the hook was set. In 1999, he competed in his first full season of Top Eliminator West and earned ‘Rookie of The Year’ honors. Earlier this season, Ahten captured his first career A/Fuel Dragster win after dominating the IHRA Pro Fuel Category, setting track records in elapsed time and speed in the process at the Salt Lake Nitro-Jam at Rocky Mountain Raceway.

When not racing, Ahten is a second-generation Firefighter Specialist with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He has moved up through the ranks to be the one who drives and pumps the fire engine. He recently passed his Captain’s Promotional exam and is heavily involved with the training of Firefighters in the Southern California area. He gets to drive fast on and off the track. “Both my racing and my career can be very similar,” noted Ahten.”Both require good people skills and performance under pressure.”

During the show, Ahten will speak about his racing history and his partnership with Combustion Technologies USA (http://www.combustionusa.com) and their CleanBoost® PERFORMANCE MOTOR OILS division and Gel Tech Solutions, the parent company of FireIce®. FireIce® is an environmentally friendly fire suppression gel firefighters add to water in pumper trucks, helicopters, fire planes, and handheld extinguishers to help extinguish fires much quicker than with water alone. Aside from supporting Top Alcohol Funny Car and Pro Modified driver Jay Payne's racing efforts, GelTech, a publicly traded corporation (OTCBB: GLTC), is a corporate partner to the Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which helps firefighters in need.

“Our team has been working with CleanBoost® PERFORMANCE MOTOR OILS for several months now, and honestly we’ve never seen oil that handles nitro-dilution and protects our engine better. Along with Chris Demke, Kristen Wootton, Kenny Buzdas and James Day, it’s a great honor to be a part of the CleanBoost® Racing team. I met Michael Cordani, the CEO of Gel Tech Solutions at the Winternationals this past season, and I am a firm believer in this FireIce® product. If I can help raise awareness of a product which can help me come home safe to my wife and kids after a day at work, I will put forth due diligence for that effort.”

Ahten will also be joined on the Speed Scene Live show by NHRA Rookie Top Alcohol Dragster Driver and fellow CRX Media and CleanBoost Oil team member, 21-year old Kenny Buzdas. Buzdas debuted in the NHRA TAD Division at the Sonoma D-7 event, where Buzdas had a parachute failure which resulted in him having to guide his Jerry Brazil Racing Blown Alcohol Dragster into the sand trap on his first full pass in qualifying. Buzdas was un-injured in the incident and will speak about his teams rebuilding efforts and lessons he learned from the tragic loss of legendary Top Alcohol Dragster driver Mark Niver, who lost his life in a similar accident only two-weeks prior.

From Bracket racing, heads up, Sport Compact racing and NHRA Nostalgia series, to off-road racing, NASCAR and all motorsports in between, Speed Scene covers them all. Hosted by Scott “Lucky” Hudson and produced by veteran radio-man Bruce Barker, The Speed Scene prides itself by making the local sportsman drag racer the star. You can tune in to the show live at http://www.speedsceneracing.com. If you miss the live broadcast, you can access the show in their archive section.
