Les Davenport's software called Jetsize is the best there is. It works and it is easy to use. If used in conjunction with a flowmeter then every run you make is the same as running your entire fuel system on a flow bench. You also need a weather station.

I guess since I use it more often on several cars I find it very easy to use.

    noxxles & jetting with pro-calc

We have an online calculator: Pro-Calc. You can set up blown or normally aspirated engines. Control air to fuel ratio low speed, air to fuel ratio high speed, fuel split hat to port, fuel distribution, fuel pressure max, fuel pressure to open high speed poppet, adjustment for weather, and nozzle & jetting selections from your inventory.

If you ar interested, email me bob@racecarbook.com for a free temporary login.

    Pro-Calc nozzle & jetting program

ON-LINE APPLICATION: It is on-line through an internet ready device. Up to three baseline setups can be stored. They can be blown, unblown, or turbocharged. There are 4 calculators: one for air to fuel ratio, one for nozzles, one for main bypass, and one for fuel pressure. For the nozzles calculator, any number of nozzles can be fixed so that nozzle changes are selective. Hat and port nozzles. The 4 calculators would be for each of the baseline setups. The jetting data is secured with a unique login ID.

TUNING ROUTINE: The routine is to access it through an internet device, ahead of time, in the pits or staging lanes. And also to look up current track air density, density altitude, and water grains from www.airdensityonline.com. Both the current air density data and forecasted data are available. That info is provided for a list of racetracks from the US & Canada. Other locations are being looked at.

Then put various weather data combos into the calculator and determine nozzles or jetting. Other setups such as low & high speed air to fuel ratios, fuel split, fuel pressure, and others could be changed as well.

TUNING THE DAY BEFORE: Before racing, we would look up the air density data forecast the day or two before. Enter the various air density data sets into the calculator. Then calculate jetting by that time of day. We would select nozzles & jetting from our inventory. Saved a bundle on spares. Avoided a bunch of runs when we found out we did not have the right nozzles or jetting.

FYI: For those with a portable weather station, that data can be entered instead.

JETTING NO LONGER AN ISSUE: We got better and better at is so that there were little to no jetting decisions on raceday. Then we could concentrated on all the other stuff.

There are too many adjustments to the fuel system to do it well without records & experience from hundreds of runs. Without that experience, the calculator makes it a lot easier. Our manuals have a lot of air to fuel ratio info and other setup stuff.

HISTORY: We set up many new combinations and were race ready for the most part right out of the trailer. We found air to fuel ratio to be the best way to avoid piston melting or a backfire.
