Jerry Green passes

    After a long bout with cancer, Jerry Green, owner of the Mile Hi Express team for decades has passed. His non stop humor and "Grumpy Jenkins-ish" cigar will be forever remembered. Services late this week or this weekend. Will post when more is known.

    Godspeed to Jerry. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times and even drove his car once....albeit to the starting line for their Best Appearing Car honors in Dallas for them. Our prayers are with the family right now during this tough time.

    Sorry to hear that Jerry passed away, he was always ready to help us when we got started racing alchohol back in the 80's. Always a joy to see him with his cigar at the start of every season.

    For anyone in the area who wishes to attend Jerry's services:

    Viewing on Friday evening 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home at 190 Potomac St in Aurora.

    Services 10:30 Saturday morning at the same location.

    Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers to Lori, Kyle and all the family. I drove Jerry's car a few times before starting my own team. Jerry loved to be at the race track among friends chewing on a cigar. He would always stop in when he was in California.

    Very sad news!!! He is going to be missed for sure. Heading up to Denver for the race isn't going to be the same. RIP my friend!!!
