Wilson Racing makes quickest run of season

Joliet, IL. - This past weekend's NHRA / POWERADE National event at the Route 66 in Joliet, IL. just outside of Chicago was the 3rd Event this year for the NHRA Division 3 Top Alcohol Funny Car of Wilson Racing.

Wilson, from Winfield, Mo., was very happy after qualifying 12th with a seasons best of 5.73 at 255 MPH. "Spitzer Race Cars continues to help us make improvements and has always played a major role in our success. Our engine program is working and the 255 MPH run is a very good indication of that, we just need to make that combination work with this new Funny Car. The switch to funny Car has been a bigger challenge than we all expected, but our Team has really stepped up to the challenge and we are proud of the all of them". stated Wilson.

"As a driver, I really enjoy driving the Funny Car because as I was told, it is one of the hardest cars to drive in all of Drag Racing and therefore has been a big challenge for me personally." stated Wilson "Even though we lost 1st round we learned a lot in Chicago and believe the necessary changes will be made before the next race."

Wilson Racing is already preparing as well as looking forward to the next division race back at Route 66 July 14-16. "We really need to have a good weekend when we return to Chicago, not just so we can move up into the top 10 in points (currently 11th), but to help to reward this Team for all there hard work". stated Wilson.

"We are fortunate enough to have a great group of sponsors that support us week after week and with their help we will return to the winners circle once again," commented Wilson. (STARCON, Spitzer Race Cars and Composites, Scott Shop Towels, NGK Spark Plugs, American Colorscans Commercial Graphics, Jacklyn Gebhardt Trailer Sales, Frank Weiss Racing Components, Goodridge USA, IRON Clad Glove Company, Mark Williams ent., Lucas Oil and Scott Mack Designs.) "We look forward to putting our team back in the winner's circle again and making our sponsors proud to be involved with our team." stated Wilson.
