Wilson Racing looking to improve again at Route 66

Winfield, Mo., This weekend's NHRA /Lucas Oil Division 3 Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. just south of Chicago July 14th-16th is in the next stop for the Wilson Racing Alcohol Funny Car Team for 2006.

Wilson, from Winfield, Mo., was very pleased several weeks ago after qualifying with a 5.78 with an all new combination. "The 5.78 was the quickest run of the year and depending on weather and track conditions, our team would like to step it up again this weekend to run even quicker. Chicago is one of the best tracks in the country, but also has very unpredictable weather conditions that can play a major factor in the outcome of the event for everyone". stated Wilson.

"We really want and need to have a good weekend. We have made the decision and the commitment to switch to Funny Car for 2006 and we will continue to improve every event just like we did in the Alcohol Dragster and that is how we won 2 Championships". stated Wilson.

"We are very happy to also announce the additional of Lucas oil Company as an associate sponsor of our team for the remaining of the season." stated Wilson "To have a company like Lucas Oil involved with our team during this transition is very exciting for all of us and we would love to win this weekend especially since it is a NHRA /Lucas Oil Division Event."

"We are fortunate enough to have a great group of sponsors that support us week after week and with their help we to be back in the winners circle once again," commented Wilson. (STARCON, Spitzer Race Cars and Composites, Scott Shop Towels, NGK Spark Plugs, American Colorscans Commercial Graphics, Jacklyn Gebhardt Trailer Sales, Frank Weiss Racing Components, Goodridge USA, IRON Clad Glove Company, Mark Williams ent., Lucas Oil Products, Inc. and Scott Mack Designs.) "We look forward to putting our team back in the winner's circle again and making our sponsors proud to be involved with our team." stated Wilson.

Qualifying starts on Friday for the alcohol cars, with one more sessions on Saturday, 1st round Saturday afternoon and elimination's will continue on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
