Beyond the Pro sessions scheduled for LVMS & Firebird, I've heard rumblings that there might be a pre-season test session at the Patch in January some time? Any truth to that?

Right now I'm planning on going to the PSCA event in Vegas on January 25-27th, but I'm always leary of these deals because you're not really part of their program, hence you have to be ready at a moments notice or camp in the lanes all day. So if anyone knows of any other test days I'd love to hear about it.

Also, I just checked with California Dragway and apparently the previous track manager flat out lied to me about them starting on the sound wall. He said they had started coring for the posts but that turns out to be false. Right now they do not have any type of timeline that would allow blown alcohol or nitro cars to run there.

You're right Darren, they did up until June of last year. They have not allowed blown alcohol cars with zoomies (collector headers are acceptable) to run there since then.

It's really hard to get a bottom line rule on there sound deal. From what we (Top Eliminator West) have been told is, the sound deal has an accumulative factor. There are some organizations scheduled to run there in 2008 that have blown alcohol and blown nitro cars. But these are factored into the 2008 accumlative sound total. It's kind of like the NHRA deal in mandating the Super class to run mufflers and having the nitro cars right behind them. Not sure how they come up with a total effect, but that's what we understand is why some can play and others can't.

Top Eliminator West is scheduled to run there in March.....pending sound approval.
Sure hope they get it worked out so the track is utilized by all. The tracks in California are not that plentyful to lose even one.

    Blessings........Ron Clevenger

I can't believe Fontana has any Noise issues, considering the Cup guys run 43 cars for Laps at a time! How loud does that get?

This all started when they moved the track from the south side of the property to the north side. I live 12 miles northwest of the track on the hill and I could hear the Pro Mod cars at the Super Chevy event in March pretty clearly. And I'm 12 miles away.

All this is supposedly steming from one guy complaining(!). I even heard last week that he may finally get classified as a bit of a crack pot even by the city because he's called and complained on week days when NOTHING is running!

The track is optomistic this will be worked out soon, but first they need to hire a track manager. http://iscmotorsports.teamworkonline.com/teamwork/r.cfm?i=16350

Bill a friend of mine used to get complaints about his circletrack car when he would start it on his Driveway. Because he was able to prove it was NO louder than commercial Jets overhead, the Judge threw it out.

Wow! Just saw where NHRA won't Sanction the First Vegas test? Glad I didn't plan on going.
