We used the oil in Chris Foster's TAFC, and I was really amazed by the stuff. It's true the parts look better. We ran the 60 wt. What really amazed us was how fluid it was even cold. Instead of being molasses 60 or 70 wt when cold, it is more like a lighter weight oil. That is very important, especially when the weather is cold and the thicker conventional oils need heat to become more 'fluid.'

Another thing is the over all cost is lower to run the Red Line. Yes, by the gallon or drum, Red Line is more expensive up front, but I don't know any conventional oil that you can get this many runs on the oil. We make a run, then heat it up at night and burn off the excess Methanol. We average 8-10 runs out of a 5 gallon 'batch.' We cycle it out after that because we feel guilty almost. When you do the math, your oil cost per run comes down to about $30-50 a run depending on how many runs you try to get. Not to mention your parts will thank you!

Also they make a great gear oil. When I drove for Harry Clack, we bought a car that had Red Line Heavy Shock Proof Gear Oil in the rear end. We made close to 100 runs over 2.5 years, never changed the fluid, never had to change the gear (Strange 9.5 Top Loader). Probably 85 of those 100 it shook hard. We would inspect the gear, drain/filter the fluid, put it back in.
