Anyone ever seen the grid cause engine rpm to be very rough on data logger? Almost like detonation. 520ci brad VI w/ promag 44, roots 35 over, grid is about 2 yrs old. Added a full degree of timing w/ no increase in ET. After about .75 sec, engine rpm gets real jagged and will even go downhill very slightly. Will try to post a pic. We've sent all our stuff to leahy, ck'ed fine. He sold us a new coil, ours was old. Same issues.

Several things. Have you looked at the data recorded by the Grid that you can download to your laptop after a run from the Grid then display Ignition In and Ignition Out? If so what did it look like? Are you using a crank trigger and if so have you switched to the mag to see if it makes any difference? Have you changed your coil wire?

Mike, I have downloaded the grid info but wasn't real sure what to look at. I'll check on these last runs to see if I see anything. Haven't ran off of the mag yet, thought about doing that. Coil wire was changed last race as well as the cap/rotor and new crank trigger.
