iso polyester resin

Anyone know if iso polyester resin Is resistant to methanol for use re finishing carbon hat. Trying to close tolerance on butterfly's.

no iso resin is not ment for carbon only epoxy and vynilester or hectron 197 is to be used
but even vynilester is not the strongest so if your repairing and carbon hat uses a finishing epoxy

hetron 197 has a fire retarden in it
vynilester doesnt
epoxy has no fire retardent in either

iso resin is a a good quality polyester resin but doesnt work with carbon.

all resin a good against thinners and most chemicals.

google proper resin to use to fix carbon is a good start

could not find it locally was suggested to use iso polyester. Can iso polyester be used just to build mill thickness where buterflyes sit? Or will methanol soften it up. Great info. Going to have to find a source to buy a gallon. Any ideas where to get it.

Well my I so polyester resin (fuel resistant) variety worked very well at closing up clearances on butterflies and resisting methanol.
If anyone needs any it came from express composites in mpls men.
