Is it just me...

...or does it seem like there is a rash of tragedies lately involving our extened racing family?

This stuff is sure getting me down

Last night I watched the Pro show on ESPN 2 for a little cheering up and low and behold one of the PSB riders grandfather was "brutally" murdered right there in town. Life is very fragile.

I have been a firefighter/paramedic for over 26 years. I have seen people die and be injured for all sorts of reasons. Some are incredibly unlucky and others are just a tragedy of bad things all in one place. One thing I do know though is that our grip on life is very fragile. Many of us don't realize how tenous life is and quickly it can be gone. I try to live as much as I can for today just because of that. An emergency room nurse I once knew told me that life is short so we should eat our dessert first. Maybe so. Dave Germain

randy we have had some really bad things going on around here also, we had a couple of deaths one right after another, but someone once told me, when i was feeling down and out..... "with all of these deaths,there must be alot of babies on the way" it made me smile and hopefully it does the same for you...... keep your head up.

Speaking of Medlen and ice cream... I was watching a re-run of a race on 2000 on ESPN Classic last week and they showed a quick clip of Forces crew. There was Eric and the crew doing what else? Eating ice cream of course! Damn near brought a tear to my eyes.
