NORWALK, Ohio (March 1, 2007) – IHRA announced Thursday, March 1, that Alcohol Funny Car would remain on the 2007 Nitro Jam™ schedule as a professional class. Alcohol Funny Car will run at all 12 events and include a world championship points chase.

“A lot of people worked very long, hard hours to make this happen,” IHRA President Aaron Polburn said. “Now that this is a reality, everyone can go about their business of getting ready for San Antonio.”

Also I was wondering do you have any more empty shelves you that you are not using. Please let me know.

Great news for the racers, the fans of the class and anyone else that were holding there breathe. The press release was very short and nothing was said about a class sponsor. Hopefully all the details will come out soon.

I asked a lot today here is what Aaron has told me

    "Too many questions :)
Can't tell you unitl logos and releases are done. Won't happen until
next week. We just wanted to give the drivers and teams as much notice
    as possible."

As much notice as possible? I'm sure everyone at IHRA did their absolute best, but I'd probably have a few less gray hairs if it hadn't come quite so close to the wire!

    Ihra

They were taking way too much time to put a deal together so I had to make plans this year and I have decided to sit out the year and maybe "just build shelves" and fish and golf ,maybe If I have the Shelf I could win a tourney ??
Maybe that only works in Toronto though ?? HMM if I come back next year maybe I can get one of Spiro' trophies ....... surely he will recycle it !!

I still have some good parts available, check them out and make us an offer. We need to clean shop and shelves for the Iron men that will be coming home.

Les, you are to much. I have heard so many nice things about you I can wait to meet you face to face. By the way what do you recommend for the Iron man. What thickness of steel for the shelves. Maybe I could recycle some of your old or new parts for an anchor on 55 ft Seaway that I have parked at the Toronto Harbour front in the summer. Maybe we will invite you for a drink and help us celebrate one of our many wins.

    "Crazy Canuck"

Spiro, I will not be racing with Robbie this year, But I am confident that you will find it very difficult to start or fill your collection this year, But if I may suggest..... so your shelves don't get wasted maybe stop by your local McDonalds and get a few miniature Toronto Stanley Cups to put on the shelf because like the real cup I think they (Iron Men and the Stanley Cup) are way out of reach of logically ever residing in Toronto for any length of time !;)

P.S - Good luck in Testing / licencing ! I hear it's very hard to in fact get a licence on the same Weekend ?? shouldn't be hard for Mike though ...... all you have to do is make a "licence" shelf for him  (and it will majically appear) !!

Note : For the lesser informed a "55' Seaway" is a converted Coal barge with a railing and aluminum deck chairs Used by gonnabies to invite neverbies for parties to show them how they reuse/recycle everything :D ............. and the Toronto Harbourfront is a summer hangout for Queers and High Society to Socialize ! I now have a terrible picture of Spiro in My head to get rid of !

Les, You Never Stop Amazing Us. I Hope You Stop By One On Your Way To Keswick And Say Hello. The Word Queers Is Not A Proper Word To Use In Todays Times. All Kidding Aside. Have A Great Weekend And Enjoy The Ice Fishing.

    no deep breath

it's good to hear they gave yall 3 weeks heads up.

if this deal isn't multi-year, then you don't even have time for a deep breath, you had better start looking for 2008 and beyond sponsor now.

    see yall in san antone...

    anyone need a driver???:D
