Went to NHRA's web page to print out medical forms for physical and discovered that Pro Mod is a Professional category I am a little slow but when did this happen?
Still amazes me how many slow cars are considered professional now!

It's basically pencil whipped professional. We don't have it near as bad as they do. They may be called professional but they are dependent on someone funding the class every year. They have to pay membership to the RPM group. It is very hard for a new team or a team that doesn't travel the circuit to get entered into a race.

They are televised on Velocity TV in October and November. It's nowhere near as good a slot as we get with ESPN2.

For the time being, probably thanks in large part to Lucas Oil, the "Pro Sportsman" competitors in TAD/TAFC have it better than the "Professional" Pro Mod guys.
