Yes , you will stay with 36, read your plugs
as a precautionary measure though. 36 is usually a preferred choice
my alky injected bbc motor loves it..( 36 ).

We have had two different alcohol engines on the dyno and both make the most power at 30 degrees ? What does it like with 36 in it? I'm just curious !

My timing use to be set at 32 degrees, untill i started to bump it up till the plugs showed signs of optimum coloring on the strap and as a result it has good equal exhaust temps, excellent reading of the plugs, and i am puting more fuel in it with out showing any signs of excessive wear, in the filter, on the bearings, and in my pocket.
not to mention reseting its best 60 ft to a 1.19 from 1.24 and from running
5.75 1/8 mile to running 5.70 flats, pulled alot stronger out of
the whole, and kept pulling threw the top end.

I was just trying it on the dyno, but I have not tried to run more than 30 degrees on the water yet ? On the dyno, the Chevy showed a power loss by trying 2 degrees either side ? Maybe I should have tried 36 or 38 to see what it did ? Do you think there would be an advantage to having more timing even if it really did lose a little power ?

in your case i would bet the cam is playing a role
    on what your motors like.
    my cam spec was ,
    mechanical roller , comp cam
    775/748...286/294

P.S. my motors are on alcohol 14.1 comp

I bet that is it !
    Now that I think about it that way, one is a unblown, alcohol injected Pontiac w/ 16.1 / 1 comp 292-299, 748-775 112 LC and the other is a retro 8-71 @ 25 % Dart 345 w/ 10.25 / 1 comp and a 288-292, 730-760 110 LC.

Thanks for making me use my noodle !
