How many of you use a clutch switch in TAD/TAFC?

It's clear that there is quite a bit of opposition to two step launches in the alcohol ranks.

With the two step being built into the legal 8973 and power grid modules, how would they create a rule to get rid of the two step launch?

One way I've thought of is to outlaw clutch switches. To the best of my knowledge, most of the blown cars I've been around use throttle switches to activate their timers. I don't think their is an effective way to do a two step launch without a clutch switch. From conversations with Pro Mod tuners, having the clutch switch adjusted to release at just the right point is critical to making that deal work. Even if someone tried to do a clutch car with a button release, I don't think it would work. At least not as good.

My question to the teams is how many of you would this really hurt?

If you are running one of the digital boxes using a clutch switch as a start switch this could also be done with a throttle switch and air over electric solenoid.

Maybe I'm way out of line here and some of you can set me straight....

Mine resets the tach. That's all. I could do that off my throttle pedal really easy.

    I like the idea.

    Switch

I have used both, but am currently on the throttle peddle.
    Wouldn't bother me a bit.
