    Just some curiousity here...

What are you guys running for a clutch and static pressure? Also what kind of launch RPM and Horsepower are you using with your static pressure.

I am in the process of adjusting my clutch right now... It is a McLeod setup running at 1210 pounds static pressure, .280 Lever Gap, and 8.5 Grams Counterweight... Car makes around 1500 horsepower, 2.49 Low Gear, and 5000 RPM Launch.

Right now I am hitting the tires way too hard. I broke a rear shock the last time out.... I am debating launching in 2nd gear (1.81) to calm it down, but that might be too much... My other option is to take some clutch out of it...

    Opinions?

You will not be able to pull a 1.81 gear with that power unless the track is real slick. I think you would go into tire shake. You never said what gear gear and tire diameter you are using. We have had this didcussion before on ITA and we told you that the 2.49 gear was just too high but need to know your rear gear. The static you have right now is within the ball park. You may find it easier to tune with around a 1000 lbs since you are only 1500 lbs. As far as finger weight you would have to look at the engine to clutch separation at the shift to 2nd gear and does it lockup once into third gear.

It would also help to know what type of rear suspension, what your rear spring rate is and what kind of shocks you are running, are they double adjustably.

In a nutshell get rid of that 2.49 first gear. It is also going to make your clutch lockup too fast.
