Hirata Motorsports and Rose RV Sales form the “Take %, give %” program to help the racers and fans.

After a successful first race of the year, Hirata Motorsports and Rose RV Sales (www.roservsales.com) are pleased to announce a program to help the fans and racers: The take %, give % program.

“They took nitro % away so we thought we could give some discount % back. This program has been in the workings since we started talking about a partnership with Chris Rose from Rose RV Sales. After having a successful Indy division race, Chris and I finalized this program to help the racers, fans, Rose RV Sales and Hirata Motorsports. With Chris supporting me for the season, my obligation to him is to help in any way I can to help his business. The drag races are a moving RV park and we are trying to pass savings to the fans and racers as a thank you. Drag racers and fans are so product dedicated and willing to support each other that I know this is a win win for everyone.”

The weekend at Indy started backwards for the team. To say the least, the first qualifier the car would not engage in reverse. Progress was made in the second qualifier. “The car went into reverse, but would not engage into forward. I screwed up. I changed the bell housing and linkage over the winter. What threw me was the fact that over the winter, and at warm up at Indy the car engaged into both gears. One of my guys found a bind and we fixed it in the pits. Unfortunately we were down to the last qualifier. To rip off that .29 right out of the trailer was just what we needed. Than when servicing the engine, the generator overheated. We were lucky that on of my guys, Pete Brady had a portable generator we used. We had cords all over but did what we had to do. Losing those first 2 runs hurt. We are still in test mode. We have not quite got down how to run this new engine consistently and not hurt parts. Going to the finals was just ice on the beer. What a great final round. I think I was ahead at 1000’. Our car dropped a cylinder at 5.0 seconds. That did us in. But it’s a win for us. Plus racing a great team like the Reichert’s is nothing to be ashamed of. We ran right with him. We just need to do make more laps. I think Chris at Rose RV Sales like what he saw. That finalized this program for the fans and races that we are now announcing . This crew is fantastic: Dean & Carolyn Davies, Jim Coursin, Pete Brady, Zach Ingram, Cheese Wilky, Byron Inouye and my girl Molly and of course my mom and dad.”
