Hinged little Tail light windows in rear of Funny Car bodies

I notice that on late model Funny Car Bodies, that they dont seen to be using Hinged Tail Light windows in the rear of the Funny car Bodies.
Interested in some feedback as to why they have stopped using this practise, Did it not gain anything with the late model design of bodies.

 

I have to be honest, I have not really paid that much attention. (Which is a shame, because I need to.) But I have never seen a qualified car since Creasy's that did not have them.
I better start paying attention again.

 

JFR, and DSR's F/C's still have them.
