We have a SSI F3 14-71 on a veney hemi @ higher overdrive. We were looking into a different blower. Could anyone give me some real world info when they changed to M4/M5,Janis,hammer etc. How much better are they and are they worth the money? Thanks

I would say cheapiest so so blower would be m4
Better one would be fowler extreme
Janis builds nice blower but we're now talking 20k
Chuck ford is more than that. Biggest question is how much is in your wallet?
And 50 od will just tear shit up on a nice blower. 33 OD should be plenty. You will cause toouch heat and turbulation and 50 over. Rotors strips and seals will get beat right out of it. What's your combo. Rpm range. Bore stroke ????

The high end real expensive blowers such as what Mike Janis and Chuck Ford and Troy Critchley make are more for NHRA Promod where you are limited to 14%. These blowers cannot be turned up that high on OD. For what you want an off the shelf Liittlefield LMB20 would really surprise you.

NHRA supercharged cars are at 14%, I've been around some pretty good cars, all with different blowers, 40-45# is common. The aforementioned doesn't take into account varying camshaft specs. Another very good blower would be getting something from Al Billes.

What is your boost temp now ?? I run an SSI F3 and at 36% over it makes around 42 lbs of boost on a MBR Hemi.

For those not familiar, the twd class in pulling is extremely competitive and these engines are all out best of best engines.

Intake temps will tell you how much od you can run. The thing is that an expensive player blower will take less hp to run. Makes the same boost at a lower od. But until I start getting outrun by them I'll stick with the F3 I have now. It make really cool boost the way I run it , even after a year on the strips and her being good and loose now.
I've always believed that if od is not restricted you don't need a custom "player "blower. If you have everything else working perfect and need that last few hp then you may need to get one. Just know that all of your current data will need to be adjusted and you will have to play with your tuneup to make the switch.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone thinks you can just jam the smallest pulley on there and it's gonna make more hp. Well it doesn't. The more the blower sucks the more od it will handle. All these top of the line blowers with inlet , shoe. Outlet mods won't ever take od. 29 max was told to me from Janis when I was shopping blowers.

    best for $$

We run a new f11 from fowler. Best bang for your buck and will make plenty of power. We are back down to about 50 over from 60+. We also have a new latest and greatest ssi billet case and the f11 is just as good and a lot less $$.

I have been told pro mods normal max rpm is around 10500. So @14 of rotor speed would be 11970. My max rpm 8000 @ 50% rotor speed would be 12000! So they are very comparable.
