Another question and hopefully ya'all aren't tiring of an inquisitive person. Fat head vs fuel or Veney heads for a alky dragster with a Roots or a screw.
The question is I have read that the fatheads 5’s are extremely better but, I sure see a lot of ProMods and TA/FC's with Fuel heads and Veneys. What makes the fatheads so much better and why hasn't everyone changed to them? What about the older chevrolet style Bacman heads? Are they still competative?
Thanks for answering my questions and I sure appreciate the sharing of your knowledge through this great site!

The fat 5's have raised ports to allow them to breathe easier. Veney has produced a new head as well to be compared to the fat 5. Bacman heads are just old technology. There are still alot of fast cars running the older style veney heads though.......probably the biggest bang for the buck if your on a budget.

Some of the choices on who`s using who`s heads or who`s is better is a matter of opinion, it mostly has depended
on what bore and stroke combination they are running.
fuel heads tend to have a larger cc chamber 173 to 190 as appose to the
fat heads or the smaller chambers of around 94 cc, so with that said
if you have a larger chamber head you tend to run a bigger domed piston, to fill the chamber for your compression
thus eqauls more weight typicaly on the end of your rod, and like i said depending on your bore and stroke deal can be the difference of
being able to spin your motor 10,000 plus rpm or only up to 92-9400 rpm
all these heads work, and those who have figured them out, choose to run what they know, many things determine what head to run, yes im sure one head is better than the other, and yes i think the newsest heads like Bae 6 or who evers new head, are still going threw R&D.
So we run what everone else runs typicaly because of the imformation and parts availability.
