Ok misleading heading. I am trying to find out how thin a head gasket I can get by with. I bought a set of rods that are .020 shorter than I have. I knew it would cause me some compression, but hell its a bracket engine.Well its my old T/A stuff being disgraced and run as bracket engine. TFX block and KB brand new KB crank with MGP rods is little over kill. Yes I feel bad about doing it,but its sitting here.

This is NA motor and probably will not see the blue jugs till I get new pistons and cpl more points compression. So just alky injected. How thin have ou run or knw someone who has run?

I would think since it is a NA engine, that a .062 copper would safe. Maybe even a .050.

if that combo worked before -you should be able to get by with a twenty thou. thinner gasket than you ran before

I know I can go lot thinner than .050. Have ran .040 with 50 lbs boost. So no boost. Have friend who can cut me a set and thinking about .020 set.

Heck worst that can happen is blow gasket.I doubt a alky injected motor going to burn head and block like it does with a blower. Now I know blower will do burn one. Hell I won second national event title with block that had one end filled with Marine tek from burning it that same weekend.

the important thing is how close the piston to deck is-also no thinner than 40 with o-rings

WELL WITH NEW RODS i WILL HAVE .020 EXTRA PISTON TO HEAD. Already running .050/ I had a set of .030 but can't find them. Obly copper I can find to make a set out of is .021 or .040
