How many passes roughly in a Blown BBC at 7500 hundred rpm max should a guy get before putting in new.

    Thanks Ron

That's a tough question.....how about 1 run before the break? Seriously....I change them every season which is 25-30 runs for us....some teams that we race with use 'em for 50 runs....and you are probably gonna get a wide variety of answers on this one....

Call Brian Scallon at GRP and talk to him. He monitors a lot of different type of motors and probably can give you a pretty darn good idea. You can also send them back to GRP and have them checked after so many runs. A lot of things go into computing the life of a rod. On a 2000 HP nitrous motor going up to 8500 RPM with quarter mile runs we went 50 runs. On a blown ProMod going up to 9000 to 9500 most change at 20 runs and some get away with 25 runs. To be truthful I have had brand new rods in a car and had one break on launch then have had them last forever. Talk to Brian.
