On August 26, Englishtown Raceway Park will be holding the first Grand American Pro Comp Challenge in conjunction with their Mopar event.

    First are the rules:
Open to all supercharged funny cars, altereds, door slammers, front and rear engine dragsters with a wheelbase 220 inches or less. No electronics, either delay boxes or throttle stops. Minimum e.t. will be 6.50. All racing is heads up on a pro tree.
Racing will be 3 rounds with an optional time trial if any racer chooses.
First round will be all run. The 4 quickest cars above 6.50 will make up the semi finals.
The second round will be all run and optional. At the end of the second round the 5th thru 8th quickest e.t.'s above 6.50 will be paid qualifying money. 9th and 10th quickest will be paid alternate money. So for those outside the semi finals, they can choose to run the second round to attempt to get in the money.
Semi final and final round racers will be first to the finish line wins because it's what the fans want, however, if the winning car runs quicker than 6.50, he forfiets $150.00 to his opponent.

    Payout:
Entry fee is $150.00 for car and 3 crew.
    $1,500 to win
    Runner up $1,000
    Semi finals $750.00
    qualifying money $500.00
    alternate money $250.00

For this to work and continue we are looking for sponsors. Buy in is not that much and we hope you will support it or will talk to people who might be interested in being part of this. Steve Bell will be producing ads and post cards to promote the event and will include all sponsors on them confirmed by May 23rd. Ads will be updated later and sponsors will be added but getting in early will provide maximum exposure.
Steve can be reached at etowndragpix@aol.com or Duane Beers at dabeers@comcast.net.

Any questions, feel free to contact either Steve or Duane, in addition we would appreciate the input of racers planning to participate.
