Why does the Gorr barrel valve use such a high idle check pressure and must be a -8 check valve, you seem to still set the idle screw with a leakdown of say 85%? So where or how does it leak to.

We've got one of those B/V's too, just haven't installed it yet. What I understood was that it has the capacity with that bigger check and how it's built to make it so you don't need a pump-saver valve...If I remember correctly that's what it is for...

I spoke to Spike last week, he told me how to set it up. I don't think I'm giving away any secrets here, sorry if I am.

The adjusting screw closest to the barrel valve inlet is for the idle. Adjust this screw until you get your desired leak percentage, less 10 percent. For example, if you usually run 85%, set it to 75.

The second adjusting screw is for the amount of fuel at stage rpm. Adjust this one so you have the desired cylinder temperatures or the right amount of fuel coming out of the pipes at your leave rpm.

Supposedly, there is no visual way to confirm the leak down, as with past barrel valves. On the Enderle, you could set the barrel valve drum with 3/4 of the vee showing (to pass fuel into the hat and port nozzles), and it would be pretty close.

I believe that the #8 check replaces the old #6 idle check valve.
