Does anyone run Goodyears with Beadlocks? (Weld 16" rims are back up for 8 weeks so we can't get rims in time for E Town!) Brownman and the FNG's:mad:

    Thanks

We already have beadlocks. I'm looking for a set of Weld 16" 5 Lug rims with 4.5 backset and 5.5 bolt Pattern. We want to change over to Goodyears from M/T Tires for this event. :( Brownman
Don't think that we can use Beadlocks with Goodyears?

    Brownman,

Was talking to a Goodyear rep at our last event up here in Canada and he told me with the new Goodyears you can (and actually doesn't recommend doing otherwise) run beadlocks. We currently run M/T's on beadlocks and love them on our TAFC. We tried the new Goodyears (last year anyways...) on tube & liner wheels with next to no success. Couldn't stop shaking and spinning.

Anyways, so according to that guy, yes, you can run the new Goodyears on beadlocks and actually recommends it.

    Thank You Guys

Thanks for the information. We will drop our trailer on Thursday in the AM and follow up with some of the teams there. Just to be safe we will carry the M/T's with us. Brownman and the FNG's:)

    m/t to goodyear

i think the goodyear will probably hook harder than the m/t, so be prepared to compensate.

with the beadlock, wheelspeed is critical, if the tire hooks...it's going to start a cycle that really leads to some bad shake. the liner tire isn't as prone to 'hook' as hard as a beadlock tire will, thats why the majority of the tafc's run them.
