Booher Wins 2008 Goodson Pro Top Outlaw Championship

The Goodson Pro Top Outlaws finished up their season in Clay City, Kentucky. After all the smoke cleared and the points were tallied, last year’s series runner-up Brandon Booher ended up taking home the Spitzer Top Gun title. Tom Mueller, who runner-upped to Booher earlier this year in Roxboro, NC, earned a 2nd place finish and event winner Terry Coyle cemented a 3rd place finish with his efforts.

In their final event of the season, Coyle earned the win over Booher at Mountain Park Dragway in Clay City, Kentucky in front of a standing room only crowd. Booher, who qualified #1 out of 23 cars for the event with a 3.91 at 181 mph, got the win over Mueller in the semi-finals and #4 qualifier Coyle earned his way to the final round with a win over #2 qualifier Adam Trauth, who earned a finished 4th in the overall points standings. In the final, Coyle ran 3.87 at 182 mph, the quickest and fastest pass of the weekend, to earn the Spitzer Top Gun victory.

In the American Colorscans Super Eliminator series, Glen Woods’ Pro Mod entry earned the victory over Bart Morris by pairing a great .009 reaction time with a nice 4.27 second pass down the 1/8 mile.

In 2009, expect more exciting action from the Goodson Pro Top Outlaw series. They have already begun working on improvements that lead towards bigger even more competitive Spitzer Top Gun and American Colorscans Super Eliminator fields. They would like to thank all the sponsors, fans, and racers for making 2008 a great season and look forward to what is to come in the new year.

The series would like to thank the official series sponsor Goodson for their support throughout the season. With over 8,000 products available, Goodson has been serving engine builders for over 60 years. Whether you're working on the average automobile engine or a high-performance engine or a small displacement engine, you'll find the engine building tools and supplies that you need at Goodson. For more information please log onto www.goodson.com.

In an effort to improve the show and help a great cause, the series has become involved with the Shriner organization. The Shriner clowns will appear at select events to entertain the crowd and bring awareness to the great charities they are involved with throughout the year. For more information about the Shriner organization please log onto http://www.shrinershq.org/.

The series has a contingency program in place as well as payouts for each event. This could not be possible without the support from the following sponsors, Spitzer Race Cars, American Colorscans, Fowler Engines, Flatout Gaskets, Mickey Thompson Tires, R&R Racing Products, Performance Torque Converters, Aaron Sipple Engineering, No Limit Race Cars, Phil Esz Equipment, Ohio Crankshaft , W & M Enterprises Inc., Snyder Motorsports, Coan Engineering, Fab Shop, Find Races.com, Auto Meter, Mike Bos Chassis Craft, and Dan Olson Racing Products.

As PTO continues to grow they are looking for new members to join the organization. To find out more about the Pro Top Outlaw Series please click on the link below www.ProTopOutlaws.com.
