In a blown alcohol door car what spec gloves do you need to have? I have a 3.3/15 suit but only 3.3/5 gloves. Should we be using 3.3/15 gloves and if so who is the company who makes the largest , I have very big hands?

    Ask yourself this
You have to buy a set of gloves regardless right?
How much do you value your hands
why not just wear a -20 glove

Honestly what got me thinking about it was the idea that if you had a fire whats the first thing you do....grab things right and as the rules read as I was believing, you only had to have five layer but everything else had to be at least fifteen layer.
Just didnt make sense. But like I said I have an issue with the size of my hands there are very few gloves I can even begin to fit in so I will have to search.
How cumbersome are the 20 layer? I agree it makes sense I want the hands to have a lot of protection.

In the last year we have had a local racer do serious damage to his hands from a race car fire. He is a self employed cabinet maker so it has seriously affected his income. Our governing body ANDRA did some investigations and found most gloves seriously lack in protection on the back of the hand where the skin and flesh is thinnest and where all the tendons live. This is the area also most likely to cop the heat due to hands being wrapped around a steering wheel or lever. This is what has me wanting better gloves. I will take a look at Simpson. Cheers Pete

I've got Diest gloves, they're pretty thick and not as flexible as some but as above protection on the back of the hand is very thick, with the engine in front I want that!
