Just figured I would put a friendly note out there for all the FC & Pro Mod teams out there.

It really surprises me how many cars I see out there with fuel lines that are too short going into the barrel valve and distribution blocks in the rear.

I think in an effort to clean up the plumbing, lines get made too short.

Probably the number 1 cause of major TAFC/Pro Mod fires is the main line going from the fuel shut off to the BV being too short. So when it bangs the blower, the fuel line becomes another blower restraint and rips the fuel shut off off the pump. Motor is still turning and you don't have a way to turn the fuel off now. Flame, fuel and no way to cut it off is a big ugly fire.

So while it's the offseason, take the time to look at your main line, the lines going back to your distribution block/blocks, and also your port lines. If they are too short, it will rip those out too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    true story

Very good advice Will. I am pretty sure that is what caused Steve Gasparelli's fire at Vegas about five years ago.
