Funny Car Floor

I have made a belly pan for floor under the chassis on a Top Alcohol Funny Car. But what do you guys use on the top side of the chassis rails for the driver to stand on when hopping into the car, or to rest his feet / boots when sitting in the car. eg do you make a small alum panel for feet to sit on, or a couple of extra small diameter pieces of tubing to give strength for his weight. Any ideas would be appreciated

 

Exactly that, two pieces about 3 inches long.

 

i have two small pieces tubing 1 on each side without out looking i would say about 3/8 to 7/16 tubing comes out about 3"from the frame rail and 10" long plenty of room to put your feet on till you set down in the car
