Does anyone here run their fuel pump off the back of their Dry sump?
I am thinking about doing this and I was wondering if there were any issues?

Will it still run at 50% of the motor RPM? Those cam driven fuel pumps are designed to keep up with the fuel curve requirements of a blown motor while running at 50% of the motor RPM (camshaft speed).

I do this on the cam mounted dry sump pump. I use Aviaid on my RCD gear drives. The Waterman pump is mounted on the front end of the pump. John sends me a phenolic "washer/spacer" to use between the fuel pump and the dry sump pump.

Been running a Hilborn 150-1 off the back of a 4 stage Barns pump for 12 years with no problems. See no reason you could not run a 990. Send me your e address and I can send pictures to you. br22bob@juno.com

I never have, or seen it done, but i'm curious as to what happens when the rubber band (belt) brakes?
I am NOT a fan of anything run with a toothed belt other than the blower.
To me it's just another thing to break, if you do go that route, be sure to stick a new belt on it, remember the increased resistence of the pump is gonna put more load on the belt.

    Just my thoughts:D
