Question, what steps do some of you take to prevent corrosion to your fuel system. I would like to draw on your knowledge and experience. Its seems alot of people leave there alcohol in the system and reley on the top end lube to hold the corrosion to a minimum. What is your lube of choice?

At the end of each race we drain the fuel system and put that fuel in a seperate jug and use it for startup the next time out .
After I back off and flip all the rocker arms over, I pull all the fuel lines off after the pump. I use squirt bottle full of Marvel mystery oil and put a few shots in the top of the pump and the shutoff, then i give a few squrts to the Barrel valve, throttle shafts and both ends of all the poppets, then reinstall and tighten the lines.
I know that this sounds like a bunch of extra work at the track,at a time when your more than ready to leave but.... it can save you a whole bunch of issues in the long run. ;)

After a weekend of racing I drain out all fuel, blow all the lines and poppets out with compressed air. I then spray wd-40 in the injector and crank the motor over till a fog comes out the pipes. Then I spray all lines and pump with wd-40 and used compressed air to blow everything out again. I have done this for 10 years and never had one issue with corrosion or poppets sticking.

I disconnect my inlet line from the barrel valve. I have a secction of hose made up with an air fitting on it. I put pressure on the barrel valve inlet and blow out all the lines with air pressure. (opening the butterflies also, cleans out port lines). Put some atf in fuel pump, or wd40, or whatever I have. Crank, crank, crank to clear cylinders. Atf in hose to barrel valve and air pressure again. Blows atf through lines, and coats the cylinders some. Also makes a cool smokey start up. Fogging oil in cyls if just 1 weekend to the next.

I know someone will bust my balls for using atf. Hit me with it.

    Lubes

Are alky lubricants such as the the one that VP make, worth the cost?
    Anyone here use them?

No, but I'm not a real blow alky guy. Just an 8.0 drag boat.
I have never fouled a plug. Now, it will color them, but as a bracket piece we don't have to read plugs every pass for tune up. We just have to make "x" hp to run the number. We don't make max hp.
Sure, ATF is high detergent. It cleans great before assembly.
ATF because its cheap, its on the shelf, it lubes, it is clean. 1 quart lasts a few seasons.
Like I said.. I use outboard fogging oil if just 1 weekend until the next race.

I use pro blend or red line. It helps greatly to prevent corrosion.
IMO its a bargain at 10 to 15 bucks for a can that does 55 gallons.

I do exactly the same thing! never had an issue. Except I also spray all my lines out with brakleen, blow then dry then give the fitings a mist of WD as well to keep them lubed
