Wanted to get a feel for what everyone is using, Waterman, Rage, Settles? Thinking of a Settles Nuke pump myself. I like the idea of a Geroter but have been told by one engine builder that they DON'T have a linear fuel curve and this poses a starvation problem at the top end. Likewise how does the Rage compare to the Settles or Waterman? Any improvements there?
    Thanks

Why not get Sid to do what ever is needed at Watermans- He has a pretty whizzy set up in Gasoline Alley in Indianappolis. I know that Connie Kalitta gets all his stuff flowed there.

You only need a alcohol pump, not a top fuel pump.
are you running a psi or root blower? All the guys that haul ass are running waterman.

Have you ever run a brand new one or seen bench test results? Send it to Ralph.

Go With the Settles pump ! you will probably need a -16 main return line and make sure your fittings are tight at start up and the crew are wearing goggles and rainsuits! May I suggest a .310 in the main and a 1/2 inch/ (.500)in the loop at 190 psi and I'm thinking maybe an automan starwars fuel management for fine tuning ? that may get you to the 14-16 gpm that you really need . Oh yea, You may need to put a drain plug just below the sleeves to drain off the excess alcohol after it has separated from the oil .
I might rent it from you when your done with it to fill my pool . or I'll trade you for a boring non exotic reliable waterman red with a pretty cool mod ,that makes the car happy .

Thanks Les. I've been leaning towards the Settles purely from an engineering point of view. I know the Waterman is the conventional road to take. Seems like you have alot of experience with the Settle's. What do you like or don't like about it?

Les is pulling your leg and Greg got a laugh out of it. Do you understand what Les is saying to do?

"might rent it from you when your done with it to fill my pool . or I'll trade you for a boring non exotic reliable waterman red with a pretty cool mod ,that makes the car happy ."

Get a Waterman and send it to Ralph for the "pretty cool mod."

Guess I just don't get Canadian humor. Must have been that mad cow steak I had the other night.

im not from Canada but ill give it a try.
I used to date this girl that was pretty big that weghed about 300 pounds. lets see, that would be about 350 canadian. SHe was so big that if she jump'd up in the air she'd get stuck. whenever I went shopping and got home from the grocery store i had to hire a rodeo clown to distract her just so i could bring the groceries in from the car to the kitchen.

Spoke with Dave Settles today. Said he can easily build a pump for my application, NO EXTRA COST. Answered all my questions, spent a good deal of time on the phone. And it won't empty a swimming pool, just a bath tub. Sold on the geroter.
