We are converting a 540ci blown gas chev to Alcohol.

    I've got two questions.

The engine has 25 passes on it since new. It has 8.5 to 1 compression ratio. Just to finish out the year I am going to run it with low compression then bump it up. What problems will I have to deal with using this low of compression.

Next problem is I run a Jesel belt drive and would like to keep it. I think or thought I have seen where you can mount a Hilborn-4 fuel pump to a Jesel Belt drive. Am I just dreaming or is there such a setup?

    Thanks

You can convert it your self if you so wish.
Unscrew the 3 studs installed in your unit, make an accurate 4 hole pattern OR buy a E-3000C FUEL PUMP COLLAR 4 HOLE as a pattern.
Drill the 4 new holes & tap to unc, prefered for ali, you may need to use 1/4" cap scews to hold your pump on as there may not be enough room for nuts if you want to install studs.
If you want excellent reliability use a 1" s/s reinforced belt.
I have fitted up an enderle 110 to a hilborne belt drive & use this set up for my oil pump.

Just an after thought..... on your 8.5 compression is, may-be a little 'juice'...........
