I bought the T & C Chassis jig from Tom & Chris Hunt....and working on my first car. Their car (that I currently run) has a front tire width of 46.25" center to center (38" width kingpin center line at the top of the kingpin). I'm building the front A-Arms and need to decide how wide to make the car. Mark Williams plans call for 40" kingpin centerline. This car that I am building is an altered - so width does not really matter - but it might to the next owner if he/she wants to use a nostalgia or late model funny car body. I have called several friends and gotten numbers of 46" to 50" front tire center to center. My over the tire D-rings are 48" apart in my trailer....so that's one case for using that dimension. Mark Kinser (local Altered & TAD racer) says narrower cars go straighter...opinions please?

My Jig is 44.5" c to c of tires, but I also made it adjustable for owners preference. I like to keep'em tucked in!
