    False Rumor

The rumor claiming that TAFC and TAD will no longer be contested at NHRA POWERade National events is absolutely false!
Someone also claimed that a "professional racer" had met with an HPD executive who made this statement. This too is a false claim. No HDP executive has yet to have any meetings with an NHRA professional racer.
The FACTS are that the Top Alcohol categories do play an important role in NHRA Drag Racing and will continue to be part of NHRA national events.

Thanks for clearing that up Len, I didn't think it was true, but stranger things have happened.

Lets hope that the NHRA and HDP's keep these classes at all national events. Next to Prostock they are the most competitive cars on the circut today. I think the NHRA & HDP's should make them part of the pro tour.:)

As was told to me by, the Partners contract with NHRA included a 10 year clause retaining TAD and TA/FC as part of the program.

The only rub I heard was that the Partners wanted to keep a 40 or so mile per hour difference between the TA/FC, TAD, AFD's and the Pro's. Seems like they were concerned about Dana Hopewell, Big Bill and the rest of them over at Duane Shields running 4.40's at 340 in a year or two without a blower.

Thank you for clarifying. Whether or not a national event is contesting the alcohol classes actually determines where I will attend a national event. I wouldn't bother traveling via plane to an event that does not have alcohol classes. It just wouldn't feel like a full blown national event. I hope admission prices for those places are less expensive.
