Foster signs Goodridge as primary sponsor for 2011
Team will debut new 2011 Mustang body

<img src="http://www.insidetopalcohol.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=286&thumb=1&d=1296698156" align="right" borders="0"/>DAVENPORT, Ia. – Former NHRA Division 3 Top Alcohol Funny Car Champion Chris Foster has announced the signing of Goodridge Hoses & Fittings as primary sponsor for four races in 2011. The team will also be making the switch to a Hairy Glass 2011 Mustang Body this season.

Foster, of Davenport, Ia., is excited to bring Goodridge, who sponsored the team for two events in 2010 back on board.

“We are very happy to bring Goodridge Hoses & Fittings back on board with Foster Racing in 2011,” said Foster. “We have extended our agreement from two races last year to four this season. We kind of turned the corner towards the end of the season last year, so we are very excited to start the year with a new body and a new look. The new body is quite a bit lighter than our old one, so we should be able to get the car down to minimum weight, which should help us even more. Hopefully we can put this new look Goodridge Mustang in a few winner’s circles this year.”

Jack Hastings, Director of Motorsports for Goodridge is looking forward to the expanded relationship with Foster Racing in 2011.

“Goodridge is proud to extend our relationship with Chris and the entire Foster Race Team for 2011,” stated Hastings. “Goodridge fluid transfer products have been associated with race Champions for over 40 years and Chris Foster exemplifies those who continue to ‘Push the Limits.’ We look forward to sharing in his success for 2011.”

After winning the Division 3 Championship in 2009, due to team Crew Chief Will Hanna’s scheduling conflicts, the team competed in the South-Central Division 4 in 2010 where they finished second to Tony Bartone. The team will return to Division 3 in 2011.

“We didn’t have a terrible year last year, but after winning the Division in ’09, you set your expectations a little higher,” explained Hanna. “We couldn’t get the car to do the same thing from race to race. We changed a lot of things with the way we ran the car trying to fix the problem, but the problem wasn’t the tune-up. Once we isolated what the problem was, we started moving forward. Finally in Indy we turned all the knobs back and went to a real basic set up to figure out what the car responded to. We ended up going to the semifinals there; running mid to low .60’s deep staged in 3000 ft+ air. Long story short by the end of the year we were right back to where we were before the problems started.”

The team plans to start the year by testing in Houston Feb. 25-27, then staying over for the Division 4 opener there the following weekend.

“Division 3 always has some tough cars, so we’ll have our work cut out for sure,” added Foster. “But the whole team is ready to build on the progress we made at the end of the year. In addition to Goodridge, we have some great associate sponsors back on board with DragRaceHose.com, Motorsports Unlimited, Ace Clutch Discs, Victory Valves, Morel Lifters and Autometer Data Acquisition.”

Will Hanna’s www.DragRaceHose.com is an official distributor of ultra high-quality Goodridge Hoses and Fittings, the name top racers in all motorsports disciplines trust. Goodridge is also a paying contingency sponsor in NHRA, so log on to add your name to the list of racers winning with Goodridge.
