Foster signs DragRaceHose.com as primary sponsor for US Nationals

<img src="http://www.insidetopalcohol.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=222&thumb=1&d=1270165754" align="left" borders="0"/>CLERMONT, Ind. – Defending NHRA Division 3 Top Alcohol Funny Car Champion Chris Foster announced today that DragRaceHose.com has stepped up as the team’s primary sponsor for this weekend’s Mac Tools US Nationals at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. With one national event final round to his credit last year, Foster hopes to break through for his first win at the “Big Go” this weekend.

DragRaceHose.com, a distributor of Goodridge Hoses & Fittings, has been a major associate sponsor of the team since last season. It is owned and operated by team Crew Chief Will Hanna.

“My association with Foster Racing as a sponsor has really helped put DragRaceHose.com on the map,” stated Hanna. “If I was going to pick one race to step up and sponsor the team, it might as well be the biggest of them all, Indy. They have done a great job representing my company as an associate sponsor over the past two years along with the Goodridge deal we did earlier in the year. It’s a great deal for us because the racers are our target market.”

Foster, of Davenport, Ia., enters this weekend’s event with high hopes of starting a late season run.

“I can’t really say we have had a bad year,” said Foster. “It just hasn’t been as good as last year. As good as we ran last year, we wanted to take it a step higher. We fought some gremlins earlier in the year, but we seem to have that behind us now and have things moving in the right direction.”

“We are very happy to work with DragRaceHose.com and Goodridge Hose & Fittings again this weekend,” Foster added. “We will also have Ken Juszczyk from Motorsports Unlimited and Jamie Noonan from Noonan Race Engineering (manufacturer of the X-1 cylinder head) as guests this weekend. Hopefully we can make a strong showing for them this weekend.”

Hanna has experienced success at Indy in the past as a part of Jay Meyer’s winning Top Alcohol Dragster team in 2000 and with the late Shelly Howard’s runner-up showings in 2003 and 2004. He hopes to add another strong showing this weekend.

“We haven’t run as well as we would have liked at the last few races,” explained Hanna. “We have tried some new things this year in an effort to go from a consistent 5.60 car to a consistent 5.50 car. Ever since we made the decision to switch to the new Ace clutch discs in the middle of the season, it has really helped us regain a consistent clutch tune-up. That has allowed us to focus on improving other areas of the car. Hopefully we can build on the progress we have made this weekend.”

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with two sessions and concludes with Sunday morning’s fourth qualifying session. Eliminations begin Sunday evening, and final eliminations conclude the event on Monday.
