Would like to hear about the Fontana Combination.

Is Miner developing it and manufacturing the components?

What are the differences and similarities to the BAE combination/hemi?

What's is different from the old Barney combination?

I DO A LOT OF BUSINESS WITH BOB MINER, AND HE HAS NOT PURCHASED THE ENGINE PROGRAM FROM JOE AS FAR AS I KNOW. HE HAS DONE A LOT TO REFINE AND DEVELOP THE COMBO AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTTING THEM TO PRODUCE THE BILLET BLOCK, THE NEW MANIFOLD ETC. THE SIMILARITY TO A BRAD IS YOU CAN RUN A CHRYSLER CRANK AND FLYWHEEL, AND THE CLUTCH CAN FITS. WOULD NOT KNOW ABOUT BARNEY'S COMBO BUT THIS IS ALL STUFF BOB HAS PUT TOGETHER IN THE PAST COUPLE SEASONS.

A VERY NICE MOTOR, EASY TO WORK ON (LEAVE THE MANIFOLD ON WHEN YOU REMOVE THE HEADS). THE 3" PAN RAILS ON THE BOTTOM ARE NICE ALTERNATIVE TO GETTING YOUR BLOCK WELDED EVERY TIME YOU KICK A ROD. GOOD STABLE BOTTOM END AND A VALVE TRAIN THAT DOESN'T EAT MANY PUSHRODS OR REQUIRE THE CONSTANT LUBING YOU CHRYSLER GUYS DO.

I wasn't going to comment, but something needs to be made clear. Pushrod problems happen with both combos. Bret Williamson did not return to Pomona for the rain date because they have issues with the pushrods in their Fontana and it cost them an engine.

Norm Drazy has the perfect fix. He and Mike Austin (WAR) can solve your problems. Once you go that route, you'll never burn up another push rod. Can it be adapted to the Fontana? I would think so, but you need to check it out to be sure.

Keith Stark, Dave Hirata, Ed Schmeekle, Ken Perry and I'm sure that there is more.

There is a team here in Malta running a Fontana combination in TAD it goes well and doesn't seem to give too much trouble.
