Last season we began noticing rod bearings flaking. We have used King bearings for 5 seasons with out any issues. We went from a 1471 to a d rotor screw and also installed a grid. We have always used castrol nitro 70 again with no issues. Any one else seen these problems before? Thanks in advance for your input.

    Flaking

I have heard that is the reason why many people do not run the King bearings.

Yes it's called V rod bearings. Buy them and forget about your problems. Flaking bearings is caused from improper adhesion when they make them or very old stock. Seen it before.
