i have a Kobelco blower that started leaking oil out from the top pulley. I am going to pull it off and check. Any ideas as to what is leaking, and hat could possibly cause it?

Also, There is a spring pressure relief in the blower housing at the front. Should it have pressure after a pass when pressed in?

How do you check the oil level in the blower?

The blower should maintain pressure. If not, your losing/lost the seals..

snout seal is leaking as for how much oil it depends on which one you have, pull the front drive off and put a new seal in it,your parts store will have it. Dave

The blower is a Kobelco 8-71 Superman with a 5" snout.
How do you know what is full?
do you fill it by removing the pressure relief valve and using it as a fill hole?
What type of oil goes in the blower?
Any tricks to removing the snout?

Thanks guys, just really new to this blower stuff.

3-D I just had the same problem with my superman .
I ordered a new seal from Fowler engines and changed it my self.
A snout seal isnt that bad a job too change but you will need a press to do it.
If you aren't mechanical and dont have a press you could send it out.
Jeff at http://www.jdfperformance.com/ is just north of Dallas and should be able to fix you up no problem.
Every one has their own opinion but I like to use a good quality 2-stroke synthetic eingine oil in my blower case .If you tear up a rotor seal and push your blower case lube into the engine the 2-stoke oil will burn and not detonate you engine.

I just replace my snout seal and bearings. Pretty simple process. We set the blower back 2" and put a 2" spacer on the snout. 12 runs on the blower and the bearings & seal were fried! The extra 2" put way too much stress on the bearings. Had to go to a 7" snout to fix it properly.
