    Hello,

I'm new to the hemi world, and this site has been very helpful.

    I have a few questionss:
    1. The TFX2000 brad 5 fathead setup I have purchased has the crank trigger mount and magnet in the wheel, but no pickup set up. What do I need to purchase to go along with my msd 44.
    2. I have read that several start the engine on the mad and switch to the trigger...... how is this accomplished.

    3. I need headers to complete this setup. I'm tractor pulling and need to have a set that iss within 10* of plum and at least 12" after the last bend. Where would be a good place to start for a header builder, or does anybody have headers they want to sell.

    Thanks
    Sean

    pick up/switch

Give Dave Leahy a call @ 740-362-0251 or visit his website @ electrimotion.com, He can help you with a pickup and a switch to change from
mag to trigger. Great to deal with and will answer any questions you have.

    Run Leahy's pick-up. Don't use MSD's.

    Crank Trigger

    Hi,

I have been told the Leahy pickups are the only way to go, its all I'll run and it seems like 99 percent of the pros run them. There is the pickup and a holder bracket that slides in say an RCD mount, some of there later stuff had the mounts machined into the gear drive cover. Dave Leahy can help you out with all of that.

There is a switch (Leahy sells I think) that manually switches over from one to the other. Starting on the mag isn't always a necessity but depending on your starter rpm, oil temp, oil weight, ect....you can have the car start one time then not fire the next, this doesn't seem to be a problem with aircraft starters.

Cant help much with the headers.

    Hope that helps some,
    Trevor Sherwood

    Double check

Sean make sure where you are going to run will let you use a crank trigger. I know it is dumb but some places make you use the mag pickup and not a trigger. They make you zip tie the pickup wires together on the mag. They do this because they are afraid you will have traction control wired up through your crank trigger. We ran a trigger for a while and loved it but some places made us unhook it and use the mag pickup. If you can run it I would its a lot nicer, it will never change.

Btw what class are you pulling and what organization?

    Good luck,
    Paul Sullivan
