After getting broadband into almost every person's home for roughly the same price as the online services, I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did. We had Compuserve and then we upgraded to Prodigy. It was amazing what they did in those DOS-based environments. :)

It's just Compuserve Classic that is done as of June 30th. I still use my CS account and still use a CS email address. I spoke to customer service about it and they said it was "business as usual."

How about the late Ed Dykes and Compuserve's RIS (Racing Information Services) which was the parent to the coverage now seen on Drag Race Central.

Compuserve's RIS belonged to the late Mike Hollander. All the RIS reporters were volunteers who paid their own way to the races, so Ed Dykes took it to the next level by bringing Summit in to sponsor the coverage and Drag Race Central/Fast News Network was born. After Eddie's untimely death in January 2000, Rick Green and Larry Sullivan took over FNN and have guided it to where we're at today.
