Halon 1301 falls into the UL category of Group 6 of least toxic. Concentrations of 5% will not support combustion of common engine fuels, yet higher concentrations (7-10%) can be breathed without ill effect. 1301 Halon should not be confused with 1211 Halon. 1211 is NOT APPROVED FOR USE IN NORMALLY OCCUPIED ARES by the National Fire Protection Association. 1301 Halon has a natural pressurization of 195 lbs. 1211 has to have a nitrogen charge in order to be brought up to operatig pressure.
