exhaust valve color

    took apart a blown alcohol engine today and noticed that the titanium ex.valves were a very light gray. also noted combustion chamber and piston tops appeared to be very clean. is this a lean condition? spark plugs don't really show signs of lean, but the ex valve color really stood out and got my attention.

    any thoughts?

    By your description I would say all is normal. If the valves tulip or turn blue then you are lean.
