    Hi folks,
i run a blown alcohol big chevy in comp eliminator (door car) here in Germany.
I use a funny car style exhaust that tends to crack in the tube - flange area every 2-5 passes. Does it make sense to support the tubes somewhere? As i`am new in the blown alky business any help would be appreciated.
    thanks
    BJ

Maybe because the pressure from exhaust gasses push the hedders down towards the track when you hit the throttle ;) Just make a small support bar from the pipes to the nearest point on the frame...

I Used To Run A Blown Chevy And Had The Same Problem They Get Real And With No Support On The Vibration They Will Crack Weld A Strip Of Metal Across All 4 Tubes And With A Mounting Brackets Brace Them Off The Frame Using Like A Piece Of 5/8 Tubing To Each Bracket For Support This Will Help But You May Have To Go To A Heavy Double Wall Tube Header But I Would Still Use The Braces

Weld a strip of metal across the 4 tube , at the bottom end , and then pass a chromoly rod with 2 rod ends under the engine and connect it to both headers. That completely eliminate the stress near the flange caused by headers weight.

Thank you guys for the constructive input
The version of connecting both headers with a bar and two ball joints
is the most tempting to me.
    regards from Germany
