Why is it that drag racing TV coverage is always getting pushed aside for anything & everything. Coverage from Reading is now push back to 1 o'clock
Can someone tell me why NHRA continues to put up with such poor treatment I'd be asking for some refunding. Sorry rant compete:mad:

Just my opinion, I'll bet that who ever is preempting NHRA is paying more money for that time slot, everything is about the money nowadays, well always was, and NHRA is tighter than a frogs ass, and that gentlemen is waterproof. Refund? there lucky they get any showing

    aggravating

Yes it is a real difficult thing to just air the shows when they are scheduled. You never know when stick and ball today has an emergency showing or when the little leage or ladies softball will be on. I recorded an extra hour and a half and still missed the last half hour of the broadcast. They suck!!

Once again they screwed some of the sportsman guys over and did not show comp or SS/ST. It would be nice to see the highlights but that would have been work on a Monday morning. They probably had some circle jerk event to cover that day.

    Bring back tnn!!!!!!!

I agree. It pisses me off when the coverage is SUPPOSED to begin at 10pm. Let alone the fact that is begins at 10:45 AFTER the post match analysis of the world swine calling championships. BRING BACK THE NASHVILLE NETWORK.

NHRA pays for the coverage they get. NHRA could probably get a guaranteed start time if they paid more money (don't know for a fact, but I'd bet it could be managed.

Actually NHRA shouldn't be paying a dime for television coverage. They should be getting paid. I think 15 million a year for the broadcasting rights would be a good start for the first year. Then maybe some tracks could update, racers could make some money, officials make a living for putting up with us and last but not least the fans could get one Hell-of-a-Show!

    If not ESPN then ??

As I'm watching the Carolinas Finals I've been wondering is this the Tony & John show??? Come on ESPN & NHRA my god you ran that into the ground.

In this economy they need to highlight the sponsors period!!! Both of those drivers are awsome but I'm wondering is that really helping the sport??? Instead we should be seeing more racing period!!!

And I get soooooooo mad everytime NHRA is delayed.....I always DVR the next show whether its little league or whatever!!!!

Amen to that...so tired of the hype. I think it would be a better story to talk about Bob Bode's explosion in Indy and interview him and video the work in the pits. Damn what's wrong with our media...hype, hype hype. A good interview is always more intersesting and not the same old song and dance...interview a pro stock bike rider when a top fuel car is runnin', that's just plain stupid!

I am so friggin tired of hearing about Force and Pedregon, who really cares, let it go! As for them asking Shirley...WHAT THE HELL DOES SHE HAVE TO DO WITH RACING TODAY???? She was a bitch 20 years ago, and she proved it again today. I don't care who slams me on this one, I've met her, and seen her race several times, and she curses like a sailor, blames everyone but herself for any round loss, and think way too highly of herself.

    You're Not Gonna Believe It

I used to tape the Sportsman races and several years ago I actually got Tiddly Wink Championships instead of racing. No Lie, I'm not making this up. After that I gave up trying to watch the sportsman show and I just tape the Pro show and add an extra hour to the eliminations hoping to see the finals. NHRA should have stayed with TNN, they were always on schedule. With the countdown and NHRA's addiction to following NASCAR's lead, I'm now calling it NASCAR Drag Racing. I'm practicing my Southern voice in case someone calls me for a job. It's a good thing most dragstrips have the turn offs on the left, I need the practice. I hear next year at Charlotte that we will go down the right two lanes turn left and race back up on the other two lanes. If we could just get Top Fuel to run a couple laps then maybe they could get sponsors. I wish someone would buy IHRA and start a drag racing association that was for racers and not TV. Add some Nostalgia classes, Pro Comp (Blown Funnys, Dragsters and Altereds) or all three types separately, and Pro Mod (Pre 72 bodies only). All 1/4 mile racing and do it all for the Racers and the Fans!!!! You guys should not have got me started on this subject.

Foley made it to the semi's and never even got interviewed! They need to spend less time trying to create issues, and dick around with Force. Try to get the little guys some exposure, that's what everyone's ultimately there for!...................................................................................................................................................................................................................or it to support a bunch of no nothing businessmen trying to run a Hot Rod organization.

Hey Force and Pedregon are fantastic. And as far as Shirley goes several years ago while she was signing autographs she made sure everyone got an autograph or pic with her.

One thing I was wondering, after the race does NHRA & ESPN2 go back & review their coverage? I know they're trying to drum up excitement over the countdown, but you can always over do it. I didn't hear alot after the announcement of the 5 year deal by Forrest & Charlotte Lucas on Race day for the Sportsman. That's fantastic to commit for 5 years in this economy, Thank you Lucas Oil.

Someone mentioned they never interviewed Doug Foley, they didn't interview Terry McMillan or Jeff Arend. We all know how horrible the economy is I just think they really need to try to interview more drivers, show they're sponsors. Shake things up a bit, include more Sportsman rounds in there or at least highlight the finals. Get into the pits more and show the sponsors they're product names are going to get TV time. Even if you have to break away once in awhile and show a car being pulled back to the pit. I just get so frustrated, because NHRA always gets pushed back if the previous show is running over....and I know there is noway NASCAR would be treated that way. I love Drag Racing, and I only want it to grow!!! Let's give all the drivers and they're sponsors some TV time. Sorry for rambling on and on!!
