Sometime in the last few months there was a thread on here with a discussion
going on about an erratic timing issue. The poster indicated that they could not run quite as much timing in their BAD as some others without hurting it and it turned out that the solution was to upgrade the mag drive. Can not find that thread!!!!!!!!!! I think that we are having some similar issues,(tafc) looking at crank trigers etc, and wanted to review that thread. Thx Steve Neal

    crank trigger

even the baddest meanest psi double throw down shaft can't touch the accuracy of a crank trigger. we had the latest greatest super shaft mag drive with hardly any end play in the camshaft, and when we started monitoring timing with our new computer, we were shocked to see how much the timing still moved around.

we put the leahy crank trigger unit on, and the timing was locked down. it takes the guess work out of where you are setting the timing, and what it does down track.

i would highly recommend the leahy crank trigger to anyone. i would stay away from the msd unit, i know a bunch of pro mod guys had a lot of trouble with this unit.

    leahy's site is www.electrimotion.com

    timming

You must run a Leahy pick up / we went thru this. Ground ground ground every unit, box both heads, retard box 6 shooter, and might even ground seat?(HA/HA} Lots of racers, over look grounding issues. This is a must for hi amp mags. Dont over look msd to retard box and to 6 shooter. Must use MSD Sheilded wire with a ground wire . This will hopefully be help to your question Willie
